It turned out to be a perfect August day after an "iffy" start; a gentle breeze, warm temperatures and a great golf course all to ourselves. New Zealand is a Private Members Club, very private, and there were no members there! Perfect!

24 TEEforeTWO Members embarked on a morning of mixed foursomes competition (two golfers playing as a team, taking alternate drives and thereafter alternate shots). This format can test relationships at the best of times; you certainly do not want to be putting your partner in the heather, which was in full bloom and waiting with welcoming open arms! However, all went well and everyone returned safely to very late pre lunch drinks on the terrace.

After a cold buffet lunch, Steven and Emily were announced as the winning team with an excellent 40 stableford points which was a tremendous effort. After some confusion on Michael's part (he misread a couple of the teams' scores!), Peter and Gillian came second, Peter and Julie third, Paul and Claire fourth. Well played everyone and Michael will be replaced as chief scorer!

Back to the terrace for coffee in the early evening sunshire and lots of lively conversation with friends, old and new.
