From the warm and sunny conditions in St Andrews on Saturday the chances our our long run of fine weather at TEEforeTWO golf days looked to be coming to an end as black clouds and heavy rain welcomed Members to Ratho Park Golf Club on the west side of Edinburgh on Sunday morning.

Many of the Members had made a weekend of their visit to St Andrews and Edinburgh; two ladies went to the Edinburgh Tattoo on the Saturday evening whilst another went to the ballet. One came up early on the Friday and spent the day at the Scottish Seniors Open at the Fairmont.  Some simply enjoyed a quiet evening in one of the many restaurants in St Andrews. Whatever the choice of entertainment, everyone was in holiday mode.

The rain on Sunday morning was NOT going to dampen our spirits, and it didn't: after 30 minutes of rain when we set out on the Ratho Park Golf Course, the clouds parted (almost) and we all enjoyed much of our golf in warm sunshine. The course is wide for the wayward golfer, not long, but tough enough. The setting was perfect for Sunday afternoon mixed fourballs.

Drinks in the bar followed by dinner in the private dining room in the magnificent grade A listed manor house built in 1824 which is now the Ratho Park Golf Club.

Our winners (pictured) were George, Mary, Anne (who was presented with a bucket and spade by Gywnneth for being in the most bunkers at The Duke's!) and Ian. They scored 80 points.

Members had driven long distances to be with us for the weekend, but particular mention of one Member should be made - Nancy, who came over from Galway in Ireland for the weekend; Thank you Nancy and we hope to see you again soon!
